Customised journeys

Entering these details will allow the TomTom to be able to give you customised routes that are going to be the safest and most peaceful for you whilst you are driving. It will also give you a realistic arrival time that keeps in mind some of the key factors that can impact this.

Points of interest

Once you have entered your details, you will also receive information on the nearest points of interest that relate to both trucks and buses. This includes the truck and coach fuel stations, parking spots and service centres. This is not only throughout the UK but also highlights the same in Europe, making those longer, further afield journeys easier too.

Traffic alerts and large vehicle maps

Both offered as a lifetime subscription. The large vehicle maps help you to ensure that you drive the best route no matter where you are going, and the traffic alerts highlight key areas of traffic along your route, allowing you to avoid the traffic build-up and reduce your journey time.

Smartphone linkup

Need to know if you have received a message on your smartphone? Be alerted to a message have it read out to you with the amazing smartphone link-up, ensuring that your hands are always on the wheel and your eyes are always on the road. You can also link your TomTom with both Siri and Google Now, which gives you full access to both without having to take your attention away from driving.

Alerts for stopped traffic

When you are driving a car, sudden braking may not seem like too much of a problem. However, driving a larger vehicle means that this can be tricky. Stopped traffic alerts allow you to know when there is traffic that has stopped ahead. This will allow you to drive safer and reduce the risk of accidents occurring. You can also receive alerts on accident blackspots too.

Speed cameras

Another key feature that TomTom offers are speed camera alerts. With this lifetime subscription, you will know when there are fixed and mobile speed cameras, all located throughout Europe. These alerts give you plenty of time to slow down when you are reaching either of these types of speed cameras, allowing you to relax and saving you money on potential fines too.

TomTom Truck Sat Nav GO Professional 6250 review

Buying any Sat Nav is an investment, which means that you are going to want to make sure that you get the very best for your money. One of the biggest plus points of TomTom as a brand is that it is incredibly easy to use. The screen sizes are big enough that you can clearly see what you are doing as well as the route and instructions that you need to follow.

The menus are also easy to navigate, and the processes that you need to follow are clear and simple. Of course, like with any form of Sat Nav, you are going to be able to make your own decisions on whether or not the route is always the best; there is only so much that it can do, and there are times when accidents happen without being picked up or that there are routes that are not quite the right one for you. This is particularly true if you are planning on making multi-drops, but it could be true for any Sat Nav out there on the market.

Being able to link up to your phone and smart assistant is also hugely beneficial as this keeps you safe whilst you are driving but still allows you to be in touch with the real world. It is also customisable for your vehicle, which helps you to ensure that you plan your routes properly and that you stick to the right roads that are going to match your own restrictions.

Any bad points?

TomTom can be a little buggy in its performance, but it is one of the best on the market, and this is reflected in the quality of the build as well as the software that is inside. The added WiFi functionality is a huge helping hand when it comes to updating and making sure that everything is 100% up to date.

It might be an expensive option, but you should always see TomTom as an investment. Not only will be work really well now, but it will also be able to last you some length of time too. Making it money well spent.

Users Reviews

  • I think that updates about traffic and roadworks is about 85% accurate which is pretty good. The sat nav is great if you are doing multi drop. It is well worth the money you spent on this.
  • Love the sat nav and its features. It picked up a lot of traffic updates and speed cameras. Speed limit options is also great. However, some not entirely accurate. Voice control a bit hit and miss but overall good quality piece of technology.
  • With this sat nav I am confident it will keep me on the correct roads for trucks when there is a detour. The sat nav is slightly too slow when setting it up but once it is set all good.
  • Great to use in the UK and in Europe. Accurate and up to date maps.
